Contact improvisation workshop “TIERRA” (EART)

From Earth to Sky: A Journey through Contact Improvisation
Teacher: Raúl Saldarriaga

This autumn, we will explore two cycles of Contact Improvisation in Amsterdam, moving from the ground up:

EARTH (September series)
Low flying, close to the floor.
We will dive into the foundations of Contact Improvisation through weight, gravity, grounding, and care. Discover how to lift off while staying close to the ground, enjoying the pleasure of “low flight.”

4 classes
Dates: Tuesdays, September 9 – 30
Time: 20:00 – 22:00

SKY (November series)
High flying, reaching upwards.
Building on the foundations of the September series, we will expand towards lifts and flying higher, working with center, gravity, bone structure, and trust. Safety and care for yourself and others remain central as we explore new pathways of movement.

Both series combine sensation-based exploration, technical exercises from contemporary dance, and improvisation practice to expand our vocabulary and avoid repetition, opening fresh possibilities of movement and encounter.
