January 13 & 20 • 19:30–21:30
In this workshop the performer does not hide behind tricks, decoration, or familiar choreography. Instead, they offer what they have: their humanity as raw material. Improvisation becomes a place where we let go of control and ease into the unknown, allowing movement to emerge from listening rather than command. Recently I have been deeply inspired by Grotowski, particularly his focus on presence, truth, and the body as a living instrument. I aim to integrate some of his ideas into our movement research, allowing them to open new pathways for exploration and connection.
We explore presence over performance, sensation over form, risk over comfort. The body becomes an instrument of perception. The scene is not something we design in advance, but something we discover in real time, together. Movement arises out of necessity rather than intention, shaped by impulse, relation, and the moment itself.
Two sessions to dive into the depth of improvisation:
to work with what is here,
to respond instead of execute,
to meet the dance as it unfolds.
