Contemporary Duet – Dance Workshop

This workshop is open to all levels.

It is grounded in contemporary dance technique and explores the art of dancing with a partner. Together we will work with qualities of movement such as:

• Sharing weight and trusting the other body

• Communication and listening in movement

• Composition in space and the dynamics of presence

• Partnering tools that transform improvisation into choreography

Each evening we will develop one duet-choreography, creating four different compositions throughout the month. These pieces may stand on their own or be connected at the end into a larger choreographic journey.

At the end of each class, you will also have the opportunity to record a video as a memory of the process, carrying the workshop beyond the studio walls.
