Body Dramaturgy:
Non-Verbal Storytelling in Performance
A movement-based workshop with Pedro Miguel Rozo (Colombia)
DESCRIPTION
How does the body tell a story?
How can movement—everyday or extraordinary—hold tension, emotion, conflict, and release?
This workshop invites dancers, actors, performers, and curious movers to explore non-verbal dramaturgy—a way of crafting stories through the body. Rooted in the intersection between dance and theatre, we’ll dive into the expressive potential of movement as a narrative tool. Through improvisation, guided exercises, and short compositions, we will explore how a scene can unfold without words, using space, weight, rhythm, and relational presence.
Inspired by Aristotelian dramaturgy (beginning, development, climax, resolution), we will experiment with the physical expression of dramatic structure. Come as you are—this is a space for research, play, and embodied storytelling.
